Authorial Series
Jangly is a jangle-voiced compressor designed to preserve articulation, harmonic detail and natural dynamics. It refines control without compromising attack or clarity.
It belongs to the Súper Pedals Authorial Series: original designs that emerge from a specific sonic tradition and reinterpret it through deliberate circuit decisions.
The pedal was developed to serve a particular musical language: clear articulation, string separation and harmonic presence.
Origin
The pedal originated from a conversation with Brian D’Addario (The Lemon Twigs), who was looking for a compressor for his live performances capable of sustaining the articulation of his twelve-string guitar without losing natural dynamics.
Jangly was developed in response to that need — maintaining attack and clarity while adding harmonic presence on stage.
Brian incorporated Jangly into his touring setup, using it as a foundation of his live sound.
Tonal Character
Jangly enhances string separation, reinforces low-end response and introduces harmonic richness without harshness.
It performs particularly well with clean and semi-clean tones on six- and twelve-string guitars seeking the classic jangle character, where articulation and dynamic integrity remain essential.
The result is a form of compression that maintains the natural behaviour of the instrument and allows the pedal to function as a stable tonal foundation within the signal chain.
Many guitarists use it as an always-on pedal, providing a consistent tonal base that maintains articulation, dynamic balance and harmonic presence throughout the signal path.
It proves especially effective in open chords, arpeggios and passages where string separation defines the character of the instrument.
Controls
Gain
Adds compression and sustain. Higher settings increase harmonic presence while maintaining note separation.
Attack
Adjusts response from immediate articulation to smoother sustain while preserving natural pick dynamics.
Color (3-position)
Provides tonal variations ranging from warmer and rounder to brighter and more defined.
Construction
Each Jangly unit is built in Madrid in small batches.
Assembly, calibration and final testing are carried out individually to ensure consistency in both response and tonal character.
The circuit was developed to retain attack detail while controlling dynamic peaks, maintaining articulation even in complex chords.
Each unit is produced with deliberate restraint rather than volume.
