Jangly

Authorial Series

Jangly is a Chime Compressor conceived to preserve articulation, harmonic shimmer and dynamic integrity. It does not seek to add compression as an effect, but to refine control without compromising attack or clarity.

Developed within the Authorial Series, it works inside tradition rather than outside it. It shapes tone with restraint, not exaggeration.

Origin

Jangly emerged from a conversation with Brian D’Addario (The Lemon Twigs), who was looking for a compressor capable of enhancing his 12-string articulation in a live context without sacrificing transient detail or natural dynamics.

The pedal was developed in response to that need — preserving attack and clarity while adding harmonic presence on stage.

Brian adopted Jangly into his touring setup, where it continues to be used to support his live sound.

Tonal Character

Jangly enhances string separation, reinforces low-end response and introduces harmonic shimmer without harshness.

It performs particularly well with clean and semi-clean tones, on both six- and twelve-string guitars, where articulation and dynamic integrity remain essential.

Rather than imposing compression as a noticeable effect, it refines the instrument’s behaviour within the signal path.
